We're creating safer solutions for survivors of gender based violence. Initially started as a peer support group for survivors who had to retreat to abusive spaces at the onset of the pandemic in 2020, Daftee (formerly The Safe Space Project) has evolved into a platform to ensure that no survivor has to be afraid of talking about their experiences.
As survivors, all our interventions are meticulously constructed keeping the survivor's well-being as the focal point. Our team, small yet diverse, contributes to ensuring that we are increasingly inclusive in our approach.
2. Information We Collect
How We Collect Your Data
We collect data only when you choose to engage with us for support or to access our services. We do not collect any information from you without your voluntary participation. All data collected is strictly necessary for delivering our services effectively, and we handle your information with the utmost care and confidentiality. Any information that is optional will be clearly marked as such in the table above, allowing you to provide it at your discretion.
How We Use Your Data
We use your data to provide you with our services and support, and also monitor them internally to evaluate our performance. In some cases, we will have a legal obligation to store your personal information or may otherwise need the personal information to protect the vital interests of a person. Only authorized personnel from Daftee will have access to your data and we conduct regular internal reviews to monitor the access and to ensure that the access is strictly controlled and safeguarded.
Data Storage & Retention
All your data is stored in India on our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) instance. Your data does not exit the geographical boundaries of India.
Third-Party Sharing
We use industry-leading tools to support the delivery of our services. These tools are recognized as world-class for their reliability and security. The tools we use include: WhatsApp - To chat with you GupShup - To facilitate the WhatsaApp chatbot Google Cloud Platform - Database BigQuery - To store data Please note that we do not sell or share your data with any third party. We may share your data with law enforcement agencies, if we are legally obliged to do so. In that case, we will notify you about this, unless we are legally required to not notify you about this.
Exercising Your Rights
You have the right to access, modify, delete, or restrict the use of your data. Should you wish to exercise any of these rights, please write to: contact@daftee.org Please note that in certain situations, we may be legally required to decline your request. Should this occur, we will inform you, unless we are legally restricted from doing so.
Daftee doesn’t knowingly collect personal data of anyone below the age of 18. If you or someone you know has inadvertently provided such information, please reach out to us at contact@daftee.org and we will promptly delete it.
