About Us

We're creating safer solutions for survivors of gender based violence. Initially started as a peer support group for survivors who had to retreat to abusive spaces at the onset of the pandemic in 2020, Daftee (formerly The Safe Space Project) has evolved into a platform to ensure that no survivor has to be afraid of talking about their experiences.

As survivors, all our interventions are meticulously constructed keeping the survivor's well-being as the focal point. Our team, small yet diverse, contributes to ensuring that we are increasingly inclusive in our approach.

Our Values

At Daftee, we wholeheartedly believe in imbibing the following values in everything we do.

At Daftee, we wholeheartedly believe in imbibing the following values in everything we do.

Intersectional feminist approach

Though sexual and domestic violence could happen to anyone, we understand the intricacies of being a survivor of marginalised communities. Survivors face unique challenges in a society that has already stigmatised their experiences, which get further amplified by their social identities. We do our utmost to ensure our team members and professional resources are intersectional, trauma-informed and queer- and caste-affirmative.

Warmth and empathy

Survivors often have to go through the additional burden of victim-blaming and stigma. At Daftee, you can always count on being treated with the utmost respect and care. We hope this warmth and empathy is extended by all the resource professionals we bring to you as well.

Collective impact

Our very first campaign slogan said, ‘You’re not alone, we hear you’. We have always been ardent believers in the power of collective impact. All of our ideas, interventions and plans have come into being due to the relentless support of the community and the inspiration we’ve drawn from all the work that has been done before us. We believe that collaborative efforts will pave the way for the safer, more inclusive world that everyone deserves.

Transparency and confidentiality

Talking about sexual violence is scary. It’s even more daunting with the growing concern of data privacy and being unaware of where data goes. We believe that everyone has the right to know exactly how and where their information is stored. Every conversation with Daftee is completely confidential. We ensure that all of our spaces are safe and secure for everyone.
